Oliver Twist:

By Charles Dickens – Adapted for Scriptsandsketches.com

Duologue – Characters: NOAH & OLIVER

OLIVER, abandoned in the workhouse, has been given employment with Mr and Mrs Sowerberry, the local undertakers. He has been sleeping amongst the coffins, on the floor of the undertaker’s shop and is suddenly woken by a loud kicking on the shop door.

The Emperor’s New Clothes:

By Hans Cristian Anderson – Adapted for Scriptsandsketches.com

Characters: PEDERHANS

There was once an Emperor who spent much money on clothes. One day, two brothers, HANS and PEDER, decided to trick him. They pretended to be weavers whose magnificent cloth could only be seen by those who were worthy of the offices they held. To everyone else, the clothes were invisible. The Emperor thought that if he employed the men to weave for him, he would be able to discover the true quality of his employees. He paid the men in advance – and for a long time, they pretended to weave on empty looms. The Emperor kept sending his most trusted officials, to see how the weavers were progressing. They all lied to him because they didn’t want him to think that they were not fit to be employed.

The Witches:

By Roald Dahl – Adapted for ScriptsandSketches.com

Duologue Characters: BOY & BRUNO

Bruno and his Grandmother are staying at the Hotel Magnificent in Bournemouth where the Witches of England are holding their Annual Meeting presided over by the Grand High Witch of all the World. She has a plan to get rid of all the children of England by injecting sweets with a magic potion that will turn them into mice. Mouse traps will then be used to kill the mice. Boy and the rather greedy BRUNO Jenkins have been used by the Grand High Witch to demonstrate the effectiveness of the formula. As the lights come up on a wall in the ballroom, Boy scampers in and sniffs around.
