Join Pooh and Piglet as they embark on a whimsical adventure tracking mysterious paw-marks, pondering the nature of Woozles and the joys of friendship.
Duologue
Characters: POOH, PIGLET
(Winnie-the-Pooh is a teddy bear and Piglet is his best friend. They belong to Christopher Robin, who is often absent, but they have lives of their own. Piglet is brushing away the Snow in front of his house. He looks up and sees Pooh walking round and round, thinking of something.)
PIGLET:
Hallo! What are you doing?
POOH:
Hunting.
PIGLET:
Hunting what?
POOH:
Tracking something.
PIGLET:
Tracking what?
POOH:
That's just what I ask myself. I ask myself, "What?'
PIGLET:
What do you think you'll answer?
POOH:
I shall have to wait until catch up with it. Now look there. What do you see there?
PIGLET:
Tracks. Paw-marks. Oh, Pooh! Do you think it's a - a — a WOOZLE?
POOH:
It may be. Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. You never can tell with paw-marks. (He goes on tracking, then Stops, puzzled)
PIGLET:
What's the matter?
POOH:
It's a very funny thing but there seem to be two animals now. This - whatever-it-was - has been joined by another whatever-it-is- and the two of them are now proceeding in company. Would you mind coming with me, Piglet, in case they turn out to be Hostile Animals?
PIGLET:
(Scratching his ear) Well, I have nothing to do until Friday and would be delighted to come, in case it really is a WOOZLE.
POOH:
You mean in case it really is two Woozles.
PIGLET:
Anyhow I have nothing to do until Friday. Shall we go together? (They set off together and walk to the spinney.)
POOH:
It seems as if the two Woozles have been round this spinney; think we should follow them.
PIGLET:
(Passing the time) My Grandfather, Trespasses W. used to rub a little liniment into his feet and legs to remove stiffness after tracking. In his later years he suffered greatly from shortness of breath and so he had to give up tracking.
POOH:
I wonder what a Grandfather is like. Do you suppose this is Two Grandfathers we are following. If we take one home, what will Christopher Robin say? Look!
PIGLET:
What?
POOH:
The tracks! A third animal has joined the other two
PIGLET:
Pooh! Do you think it is another Woozle?
POOH:
No, because it makes different marks. It is either TWO Woozles and one, as it might be, Wizzle, or Two, as it might be, Wizzles and One, if so it is, Woozle. Let us Continue to follow them.
