Duologue
Characters: LION, MOUSE
(MOUSE is fast asleep in the forest, then wakes up.)
MOUSE:
Oh what a lovely day to play in the forest. I think I am going to go for a fast run and explore the forest.
(runs around fast squeaking as he goes)
Oh no!! Whoopsy, whoopsy! Ouch! My poor toe!
LION:
(roars and stares at the MOUSE and puts his paw on him) Roar! Roar! Who are you? Be careful!
MOUSE:
Oh mighty Lion, King of beasts please do not hurt me.
LION:
Uuuum! I am in a good mood today so I will not hurt you little mouse
MOUSE:
Please let me go and one day I promise I will repay your kindness.
LION:
Uuuuum, Well I don’t know how a little thing like you can help me. As I said I am feeling very kind today so off you go!
(walks to side)
MOUSE:
Oh thank you, thank you so much.
(runs off)
LION:
Oh what a lovely sunny day for a walk.
(gets stuck and tangled in a huge net) Aaaaaaaaargh! Roooooar!
MOUSE:
(Very Loudly runs in and shouts over the top of the lions noise) What’s that terrible noise? Oh no, what has happened to you, how did you get caught in this net. I know, I can help you, keep still. I will nibble through the rope to set you free.
(nibbles net and lion struggles free) You are free Lion. You are free! Hurrah!
LION:
Thank you, thank you little mouse, I did not believe you when you said you could repay my kindness. Roar!
MOUSE:
Squeak, squeak!
BOTH:
(Say together) And the moral of the story is:
A kindness is never wasted, everyone has need of each other!
